IMAGINATION'S CANVAS: LIFE MANIFESTED IN LOVE
By Francis Lansang w/ Visual Artist Paolo Salazar
A presentation of Life as Art, this one-act explores parallel paths and how life’s synchronicity combined with technology can bridge worlds to reveal greater meaning. This multi-media story offers an exciting blend of performance and painting, drawing from a life-long friendship between two artists. Explore how our relationships make up triumph and tribulation and how our experiences unfold into moments to be captured.

I HEART LOLA: PART 2
By Nicole Maxali
In this new installation of "I Heart Lola", Nicole realizes that life with grandma is suddenly not the same... for Nicole and for her grandma. Through the struggles and choices that her family must face, Nicole captures the impact of losing a beloved “lola” (lola is the Filipino word for Grandma) to Alzheimer's. This performance is a never-before-seen excerpt from Nicole’s Full-length show, “I Heart Lola” to premiere in Summer 2011.

"Nicole's show is funny, heartfelt, then funny again. I've never seen a solo show done like that before." – Dave Chappelle

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

FRANCIS LANSANG is a fearless dreamer who has relentlessly pursued his passion for performance since his first role as the “lost tourist” in grade school. He has trained at the esteemed comedy schools of Los Angeles - The Groundlings, Upright Citizens Brigade and The Second City. He has performed sketch and improv comedy on stages throughout LA, including the Icehouse in Pasadena. He has also made rounds throughout the Bay Area at The SF Theater Festival, Sketchie At Best Festival, and The Bay Area Sketch Comedy Festival, as a member of Richter Scale, directed by Bay Area talent Sammy Wegent.

In the last two years, Francis’ career in film and television has taken flight as he has booked multiple national commercials and has worked with acclaimed directors David Sakolsky, Nate Eggert, and Mark Reyes - whose works have been accepted in film festivals around the world. Francis's online presence continues to attract a strong following, from his work with sketch comedy troupe Touchblue to his more recent work on brevitytv.com. He is currently studying with Allen Levin at Lifebook Acting Acade

A transplant from Baguio City, Philippines, PAOLO SALAZAR received his college education from San Francisco State University. His artwork has been shown in galleries such as the Fine Art Museum of San Francisco - Legion of Honor and Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek. He has also completed public murals & private commissions around the country. As an Art Curator, Paolo produced "Collision Course" (2010) an art exhibition bringing together poetry, performance, musical, and visual art at Brief Space Gallery in the San Francisco Metreon. Ultimately, Paolo is inspired by bringing people together in friendship and in creative collaboration.

NICOLE MAXALI began creating art since the age of five; but after graduating from high school, she followed her grandparent’s advice and decided to pursue her college degree in a more “stable” career: Broadcast Journalism. But in 2005, she quit her job running scripts for highly-stressed news producers and began her journey as a working actor and non-profit humanitarian. Since that first day she stepped out of the newsroom and onto the stage she has evolved creatively and spiritually through various local artistic productions at Bindlestiff Studio, Shelton Studio, StageWerx Theater, Off Market Theater, Brava Theater and Herbst Theater to name a few.

Under the tutelage of acclaimed comic/solo performer, W. Kamau Bell, Nicole Maxali wrote and performed her very first one-woman show, Identification Please, in 2008. With the help of W. Kamau Bell (SF Solo Performance Workshop Series) & Ann Randolph (SF Marsh), under the direction of Paul Stein (Comedy Central Stage in LA), and with a 2010 Theatre Bay Area CA$H grant, Nicole is currently working on her full length one woman show, "I Heart Lola."
